This site features art created by Haitian-born artist, Sophia Lacroix. Featured are open and limited edition of lithographs, as well as giclée reproductions printed both on canvas and watercolor paper, from original oil-on-canvas paintings by the artist.
Sophia prides herself on creating highly detailed, meticulous and bright colored oil-on-canvas and acrylic-on-canvas paintings. Her style is called hyper-realism or photo-realism. She paints about her homeland of Haiti, where she was born and raised. Sophia loves to paint scenes of children at play, merchants selling fruits and vegetables at open-air market places, as well as other realistic and vibrant scenes of daily life in the countryside of Haiti.
One of Sophia's favorite comments from people who have seen her works for the first time is that "one can almost walk into one of her paintings."
